The latest Newmachar News is available at: http://www.newmacharcouncil.co.uk/newsletters/Issue%20172%20-%20Web%20Edition.pdf there's news from Kingseat on pages 5 and 7.
Details of a new day-time Stagecoach Bluebird service between Oldmeldrum, Newmachar and Dyce Asda shopping centre are expected to be published next week, on Monday 13 May. The new service (Service 235) is expected to start running on Monday 8 July. This partly restores the service to Dyce Asda which was lost when the 305 and 325 were retimed and rerouted to become the 35 and 35A
Link to announcement of new service The three councillors for the East Garioch ward - Nan Cullinane, Martin Ford and Fergus Hood - have written jointly to developers Bett Homes to press for the developer to provide play facilities for the community's children. A playpark required to be built at Kingseat as a condition of the planning permission for the redevelopment of the former hospital site must be provided as soon as possible. A site for the playpark at Kingseat is identified to the west of Bacchante Way. The site is in the central area of the former hospital site that has not yet been redeveloped.
As of 29th October 2012 the main 305/325 bus service through Newmachar is changing! The service is being renumbered as the 35 and 35A, Bus times are changing so if you use this service you need to check the new timetables. The 35 goes via Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the 35A via Berryden Road. All services now go via Victoria Road in Dyce (so we lose the option of going to Asda Dyce but gain improved connections to Dyce Rail Station and the Service 80 JET Connect Bus to Aberdeen airport).
Service 35/35A timetable. Service 80 JET Connect timetable. Unfortunately, as of 2nd July the 404 bus that ran to Newmachar giving connections to and from Aberdeen has been withdrawn - full list of bus timetable changes.
For details of the remaining buses from Kingseat - the Tuesday and Thursday morning shopper services to Inverurie - and services from Newmachar - see our Bus Timetables page. I've just noticed that Aberdeenshire Council have granted permission for the creation of two football pitches and associated parking area - along with three portacabins as changing rooms - all to be located on what is currently agricultural land at the end of Kingseat Avenue in the field alongside Canmore Gardens.
